Where do the dates and filings come from?
Federal court cases come from the public docket (PACER, through CourtListener’s free RECAP archive): each filing, order and hearing is a dated row with a link to the docket entry. Regulator actions come from the regulator’s own press release or decision. Each case links to its source.
How current is it?
Every case is re-read once a week, and cases with a hearing or ruling date in the next 14 days are re-read every day. A date shown as upcoming is the one the docket last scheduled; courts move dates, so check the docket before relying on it.
What does "Settled" or "On appeal" mean here?
Settled: the parties agreed to end the case; a class settlement still needs the judge’s approval. On appeal: a court or regulator decided and a party appealed. Every status change is kept in the Changes log with its source.
